About Tri-MIn a phrase, perform, lead, and serve.
A Tri-M Music Honor Society chapter opens up a world of opportunities for students who have already shown themselves to be academically capable and musically gifted. Through performance and community service, they’ll develop confidence, creativity, critical thinking, compassion, and a host of other leadership skills sure to serve them well in school and beyond. |
How to Qualify |
Students must maintain a GPA of an 80 or better, must have ben enrolled in a performing ensemble for at least one full semester, and must maintain a grade of A- or better in that ensemble. Students meeting these qualifications will be invited to apply for admission to the honor society. To maintain honors status, students must continue to be enrolled in a performing ensemble, commit to at least 10 hours of community service/performance, demonstrate leadership and strong character, and conduct themselves with utmost professionalism. Admission will be based on fall semester grades. Qualifying students will be invited to apply, and induction will take place in early spring. Membership is granted for as long as these requirements are met. Tri-M members will qualify for Honors Level chorus and band courses.
